Cardiac emergency

Acute diseases of the cardiovascular system must be treated immediately - even at night. Take the first signs seriously and seek medical treatment immediately. In the event of a heart attack, dangerous cardiac arrhythmia that occurs suddenly, a stroke or cardiac or circulatory arrest, every minute counts. Do not hesitate for long, but contact the outpatient clinic, your family doctor, the emergency ward or us directly immediately.

Symptoms of a heart attack

Contact your doctor immediately if you or others experience the following symptoms:

  • Pain that starts behind the breastbone and radiates to the arms, neck, lower jaw, back or upper abdomen
  • Cold sweat and pallor
  • Dizziness, sometimes unconsciousness
  • Cardiac arrhythmia
  • Shortness of breath

Especially for women:

  • Shortness of breath or shortness of breath
  • Sweating
  • Back pain
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Pain in the upper abdomen
  • Pulling in the arms
  • Unexplained tiredness
  • Depression

Symptoms of cardiac arrhythmia

Cardiac arrhythmia can be a sign of a heart attack. Contact us immediately, especially if you do not normally suffer from cardiac arrhythmia and it occurs suddenly and unexpectedly. An irregular heartbeat, dizziness, shortness of breath, chest pain or even just a drop in physical performance can be signs of cardiac arrhythmia.

Stroke symptoms

The following symptoms may indicate a "sudden" circulatory disorder in the brain, a so-called stroke:

  • Disorders of consciousness and orientation
  • Numbness, paralysis or weakness in one half of the body or only in one arm, leg or face
  • Confusion, speech, word-finding and other comprehension disorders
  • Dizziness, balance and coordination disorders
  • Swallowing disorders
  • Extremely severe headaches for no apparent reason, possibly in combination with high blood pressure

If you or others have these symptoms, contact the emergency services immediately. Every minute counts and can save lives!

Symptoms of circulatory arrest

Circulatory arrest, also known as "cardiac arrest" or "cardiovascular arrest", means that blood circulation has stopped because the heart is no longer able to pump blood through the body. If breathing stops or if there is no longer a pulse, it is highly likely that there is circulatory arrest. The following symptoms may also indicate circulatory arrest:

  • Unconsciousness
  • Dilated pupils
  • Pale skin
  • Cramps
  • Drop in blood pressure or low blood pressure

Contact the emergency service immediately and start the reoccupancy measures!
